Spreading the word

Brandi wrote to me the other day to share with you a blog called CanArtisan, and included a link to your team blog in my latest post about shopping locally. Check the article out here. She has a shop directory and a craft show listing, and is open to submissions.

Eden from iStudio in Toronto wanted to share with us a new program called CSPA Unmasked.

CSPA Unmasked is an initiative to celebrate creativity and to raise awareness of the Canadian Skin Patient Alliance – a resource and community developed by patients to help those dealing with skin conditions and disorders – by helping to demystify aliments of the skin. CPSA Unmasked is the visible call to action to de-stigmatize skin disease in Canada.

Canadian residents who are 19 years of age and older, can enter the CSPA Unmasked design competition by submitting their mask design and a written explanation of what inspired the design – up to 200 words – posting their entries online and emailing a URL of their entries to: cspa_unmasked@fleishman.ca. The entry deadline is December 16, 2009 at noon ET.

CSPA Unmasked is a design competition where creative Canadians like you have the opportunity to design a mask in a medium of their choice, for a chance to win $500 and a have their mask featured on the CSPA’s website and back cover of the CSPA’s inaugural magazine in 2010. Join the voice of Canada’s skin patient community and make it stronger!

For complete rules and more information about CSPA Unmasked, please visit CSPA’s website.

Valentine's Sale Idea

I came across this “call for crafters” today and it got me wondering if we should do something similar at the beginning of February. It wouldn’t be on this scale, of course, but maybe a fun, little evening event with a few crafters and maybe some complimentary vendors.

We could all sell our “usual” handmade/vintage stuff, but add some special (ok, *sexy*) items to the mix. I’m thinking condom wallets, pretty slips, red Jewelry, body lotion, candles, cards, “love coupons”…etc etc etc…

What do you think? It could be a good “winter warmer” and a way to stay visible/active/earning $....
