"Magic at the Museum" short-listed for Manitoba Book Award

Hi Everyone,

I'm very excited to announce that my self-published children's book, Magic at the Museum, was just short-listed for the Manitoba Book Awards "Best Illustrated Book of 2009". This is such a huge milestone accomplished in such a short time. Exactly one year ago I was contemplating whether or not my little book would ever get published. I spoke with my Mom and she decided that we would start our own company and publish it ourselves. We went to press in September, and since then things have progressed rapidly. It hardly seems believable that a small effort could reap such rewards!

The awards ceremony is on April 25 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. It is open to the public, so feel free to come along if you like.

It is amazing what home-grown things can accomplish if you work hard enough!

All the best!

Another new member here!

Hey everyone! I'm so happy to be part of this awesome team! It's great to see up close all the amazing talent in this fine city of ours. I'll be taking a good look thru all of your shops to see if some of you might be interested in selling your wares at my bricks and mortar shop, Sew Dandee, here in Osborne Village. In fact, I already feature some of you in my store! But there is always room for more!

Here are a few shots from the Green is the New Black Fashion Show that I designed for and Jill had a table set up at.

Meet Paper Girl Productions

I've been meaning to introduce myself and I finally made it over! I'm behind Paper Girl Productions which began with my meow meow plush and are all entirely handmade so you can be sure they are truly one of a kind! It truly started out with a love for making things and has progressed to jewelry and felting.

A love for cupcakes and all things sickeningly cute you can find me writing about it at my blog . For more about my work visit Paper Girl Productions. If you make stuff that you think I'd like to show off make sure to join my Flickr Group and introduce yourself!

I just started selling an e-book that I wrote on Online Marketing Tips & Tricks For Your Etsy Shop which are my very own for those who have a shop on Etsy. Don't know what Etsy is. You MUST check it out!!

It's been great meeting so many other indie artists locally and around the world please don't forget to stop and say hello!

Green is the New Black

The clock is ticking...

Just 5 more sleeps until the mostwickedest (yes, it is officially now a new word) fashion event of the season! Green is the New Black is going to be the place to be on Sunday night (March 8). We have 5 local clothing designers, 9 amazing crafters, 3 creative geniuses working on a fashion installation piece, and ONE common goal: to create new and wonderful things out of refuse. Come to support your local creative community, buy some great gifts, dance the night away and don't forget to hoot and holler a little bit.

Tickets are $20 and doors open at 7:30pm. Proceeds will support the Costume Museum of Canada in their continued programming of events and exhibitions that celebrate fashion, culture, and history.

If you haven't gotten tickets yet, call ASAP! (204) 989 0072
