I just wanted to spread the word about this great event I'm sponsoring! Here's a message from Mama Cutsworth, herself! Check it out!

Hello fans of crafts and music!

We here at Drop The Needle HQ are very much looking forward to seeing your fine selves this Saturday, January 30 at the Lo Pub (330 Kennedy Street, in the Hostel International building)!

If you haven't seen our event invitation yet, check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#/event.php?eid=290888353383&ref=mf

Some things to look forward to:

8 pm - doors open, and our mini-workshop on KNITTING with artist KRISTIN NELSON begins shortly after! Bring spare knitting needles and yarn. Attend and earn your knitting MERIT BADGE!

11 pm - everyone who enters our doors also enters in the draw for a HAND-KNITTED PRIZE, graciously donated by Mariver!

11 pm - 2 am - DJ CO-OP drops the needle on the music!

Don't forget to bring any craft you're working on for the night! Any type of craft is welcome. There will be many tables with desk lamps for your visual needs.

Thanks for supporting public crafting!
Love,
Team DTN

As most of you already know...

I'm almost ready to open my bead store!

Some of you already know me,
I'm Jody from JLP designs, you usually see me at craft sales rocking neon eye shadow and a meatloaf shirt...

So the time has come, I've submitted all my loan forms and now I'm playing the waiting game.

I have been asked by the WECM to provide them with a survey to back up some of my business plan, and to get a better idea on where I should be located, stuff to carry, hours of operation, etc etc.

So if you have a few moments of spare time, I would really love and appretiate if you could take my 10 question survey!

There is a comment box for the last question, please take advantage of this and post for me any specialty items you would like to see in my store :)

BIG thank you to everyone who has already taken it, I've gotten amazing feedback and I'm super pumped to open my doors and see you all <3

Much love,
Happy beading!

(P.S If you are interested in teaching a jewellery class, no matter what medium please e-mail me because I really want to showcase local artists and have guest teachers and all that jazzzzz!!)

Gifts For Men - Etsy Treasury Featuring WEST Members

Hi! I'm Tawny. I've been a member of WEST for a few months now. I haven't had the opportunity to introduce myself yet, so I thought I'd make a treasury featuring some of you amazing talents out there to show my excitement to be a part of such a fabulous team.

My shop on Etsy is called Tawny Bee. Come on over and check it out sometime.

Also, here is the link to the treasury. It should expire on Tuesday January 19th, so pop on over there and give it some clicks. :)

I've also taken a capture of it just for something pretty to look at on this post :)

As for introductions - I am a stay at home mom. I love to sew, and because my husband is a computer programmer, I'm a bit of a geek by proxy. I didn't introduce myself sooner because I was in the middle of my second pregnancy when I joined WEST and decided to concentrate on that more than my shop. Now that the holidays are over and my little girl is 5 months old, I have a tiny smidgeon of time to devote to my sewing creations. So you will be seeing me at as many WEST events as I can find time for and possibly a few craft shows as well.

I look forward to meeting all of you. And if anyone is interested in teaching me how to knit/crochet/macrame/stainglass/makepottery/linedance/paint/sketch/dothehokiepokie let me know! So many things I want to learn and not enough time!

Sad for the occasion to be featured

It's a bittersweet find to be included in a post resulting from such tragedy:

W.E.S.T. members featured

A number of W.E.S.T. members had items featured on a local blog called The Cheaperthans. Check out the post called Winnipeg stuff to getsy on Etsy.

There are also other Winnipeg artists featured. Check it out!

I would love to paint your portrait!

Hi Winnipeg Etsy Teamers!

I would love to paint your portraits!

These portraits are 5" x 7": small but exquisite. They fit perfectly into any store bought frame and add a touch of elegance to any room.

I just can't get enough of painting them. People are so beautiful, and I would love to capture your own unique beauty in watercolor. Or, the beauty of one of your loved ones. Portraits make perfect gifts: they last a lifetime and eventually become heirlooms.

I'm offering the portraits for a very low price of $75 CDN for W.E.S.T. members (I usually charge $150 CDN). That also includes packaging and posting. Just send me an email with a good digital picture of yourself to: jane.heinrichs@gmail.com

Affiliate Program:
In addition, if you recommend someone to me and they commission a portrait, you will get a 10% commission as a big thank-you from me. I send payments via PayPal within 15 days of the completed order. All W.E.S.T. recommendations will also get the low $75 price.

Come check out portraits on my website or blog.

Much love!

Jane Heinrichs
