An Introduction

Hello, hello, hello! I was updating my blog tonight and realized it wasn't the only one that I have been neglecting. I was halfway through typing up a squash soup recipe when I remembered that I still had to intro myself to the Winnipeg Etsy-ers! So, well...hi!

I am Rebecca and I am crafty. I just moved back to Winnipeg this past summer after being away for 10 years and I am LOVING it. It is so good to be back home.

I have an 11 year old son, a cute bf, and a boring desk job. I crochet, sew, upholster, paint, and (as my ex-husband so eloquantly puts it) have a penchant for glueing stuff. I've just started putting things up on Etsy in the past month and so far haven't sold any of my listings, although I did get one custom order for 3 mini scrapbooks. lol. Hopefully some of my future items will get a little more action. I have a bunch of collage stuff that I think will do really well, but I don't want to put *everything* up at once...

Anyway, I joined this group because I am really interested in taking part in craft shows, farmer's markets, etc and I am hoping that this community will be a good source of information (and friendship!)

Also, I am hoping to start up a crafty home-based business in the next few months. If anyone knows of any local grants/loans/etc that are available for that sort of thing, please let me know...

Thanks...and nice to meet you!

  1. I think we can all benefit from the advice and ideas that will come from this group. We all are at different stages, from just getting started to living the dream and creating for a living. I think that's pretty cool.

  2. I hear that MAWA (www.mawa.ca)is a great organization that can help you on information in regards to grants etc. Maybe someone else knows more about them?
